In 1996, Robert Hanson, GarageFloorCoating.com’s founder, started a small company that specialized in the installation of residential coating systems (garage floors, walkways, driveways and patios). Robert quickly recognized that the available generic store-grade epoxies were inadequate for use in Arizona’s climatic extremes. Years of intensive R&D ensued, leading to the creation and perfection of proprietary coating products, systems and installation processes.
GFC is Born
In 1999, these revolutionary coating products, coating systems and installation processes formed the foundation of Robert’s new company, GarageFloorCoating.com (GFC), and allowed GFC to expand beyond residential into commercial and industrial realms. By 2006, GFC further expanded by opening its first franchise in Dallas, Texas. And by 2013, GFC had expanded into more than 30 dealerships and franchisees across the United States (and one in Winnipeg, Canada), all of which exclusively use GFC’s proprietary products. GFC now reigns as an industry leader in concrete coatings across North America.
